Senior Associate
Business Development and Consulting
Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Associate (SA) will report to and be directly under the supervision of the Business Unit Manager. The SA will be responsible for assisting the Business Unit Manager in managing the work of the business unit's staff and consultant team ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively while providing a high standard of client customer focused service. The SA will be responsible for all activities relating to client management for assigned major accounts and the proactive identification and pursuit of marketing targets for business expansion into a range of horizontal markets.
Specific responsibilities include supporting the Business Unit Manager in:
- The day -to-day oversight of the client accounts of the business unit as well as resolving various performance administrative problems
- Dealing with internal and external queries regarding prospective and current clients, and recommend actions/solutions
- Liaise with clients on specific projects, draft proposals, negotiate contracts, and monitor the performance of KAA consultants as necessary on contracted assignments
- Provide advice and guidance to potential clients on the drafting of Statements of Work, preparing specifications, and the KAA contracting process
- Identifying potential efficiencies, whether through automation or changed practices, resulting in cost savings or improved client service
- Consulting with clients to help them achieve their strategic management and business development goals
- Conducting market assessments and target opportunity identification
- Reaching out to audience groups to determine their needs, and acting as an advocate to ensure that the business unit is positioned to address those needs through the services it can provide
- Provides direction to the Media Production Specialist and works with that individual to ensure the quality of all contract proposals, financial assistance applications and related documents
- Providing direction, guidance, and training for KAA staff and consultants assigned/working with the business unit
- Along with other appropriate staff, representing and coordinating the business unit's involvement in in-house cooperative efforts and outside initiatives that impact the business unit
- Coordinating and communicating with other KAA. business units including cross-marketing and shared-services development
The performance measure for this position is attributed growth in business unit revenue, quality of products and timeliness of deliverables. In addition, other metrics will be put in place to monitor milestones and interim goals.
Experience and Education Requirements
The qualified candidate for this position will have demonstrated success in business development, supervision and management and managing client relations. Specific requirements include:
- 8 to 12 years experience in a alternative energy technical or procurement/financial assistance related specialty with relevant managerial and marketing experience
- Significant telecommunications and/or software application experience
- Proven ability and/or aptitude for working in a entrepreneurial, employee-owned company environment
- Knowledge of business development processes
- Master's degree preferred but optional
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

Compensation
Specific compensation will be tailored for the successful candidate and will be composed of a salary plus performance incentives.
